Student: (December of Senior Year): There are literally no words to describe how thankful I am of having you in my life. I would not be where I am today if it wasn’t for your help. Even though I started working with you a tad late, you managed to turn my world around and give me the structure I needed. We are almost done with apps. Now onto the auditions. I have confidence that everything will turn out great. You’re the best! (March, after several acceptances were rolling in): I honestly could have not done any of this without you. You have guided me through this process, that ended up being 45 million times crazier than I thought it would be.
Parent: Thank you for everything you have done for my son. You have been the best that could happen to him in this process.
I have to say that not only has my daughter received great college counseling but her writing has improved dramatically since beginning this process with you. What a great added bonus!! Thanks. (After acceptance): We are extremely excited and relieved!!! It feels like a big weight has been lifted--one I didn't even realize I had. Thank you for all your help with everything.
I GOT INTO TISCH!!! This is a dream come true and all I can say is thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you THANK YOU. Sincerely the happiest person on the planet.
Thank you again for the help!! I believe the general advice has been excellent and appreciate all of your counsel and patience. My wife and I are thrilled for son and proud of him also. The advice on the extra theater coaching was a big plus! Coupled with the essay help, the resume, activity list etc were all instrumental in marketing the total package. In any event it is a long way from the panic we felt when we first meet you.
We're so grateful for all your wonderful advice. Every essay she submitted was better because of your excellent review and comments.
Thank you so... much for all you have done for son in his application. Wow! We are thrilled to hear the news! Words can’t express how much we appreciate your effort. Thank you for your guidance, support and supervision. It’s impossible without your tireless guidance and effort. Many many thanks to you!
I got into Northeastern! I got into Northeastern's NU In program where I study abroad for the first semester of freshman year! I'm beyond excited. Definitely want to attend Northeastern. Thanks so much for all of your help, Susan. It means so much. I will be studying in Germany! I'm so SO excited and couldn't thank you more, because without your help I wouldn't be in this position. Thank you so much for all of your help with all of this. It means more than you know!
Overall, both my parents and I are all very satisfied with the results. And I really have to thank you for all the help you’ve provided. Seriously, without your help, the result could be ugly...
Susan- I just want to take a moment to thank you so much for all of your hard work and wonderful guidance in helping our daughter and us through both the summer program and college admission process. We could not be happier or more satisfied. You were wonderful throughout. You were always prompt and diligent and I always thought your comments and suggestions were right on the money. You are very good at what you do. You are really great….You do go the extra mile.
We have certainly enjoyed working with you! I think we all have gained a better insight into essay composition. We are goal and task oriented folks and I think we could have made our way through the process, but you made it much easier and really got us up to speed with all the various aspects of the requirements and deadlines. I appreciated your attention to detail and the thoroughness you paid to the essays, especially adding the polish! And of course, the hand holding you provided in December, as the first of three quick rejections came in! You have a nice personal touch! I’m sure we will stay in touch, please feel free to add us to your list of happy, satisfied parents!
I just wanted to drop you a note to thank you for all of the time and effort you spent with my daughter on her college applications. We surely could not have done it without you! Actually, it was you who pushed us to look at Marymount Manhattan! My daughter and I are both so excited about their program. You were really a god-send to us! …Thank you again. You know I think you were incredible and I know how hard you worked with my daughter! I have only wonderful things to say about you!
After getting back from Boston on Thursday, I could not feel any better about where I'm going to school next year…….I want to thank you so much for everything as well. This process has been absolutely insane and without you, I cannot imagine how I would have made it through. From the beginning you were informative and more than supportive. There are no words to describe the gratitude I have for the work you have done. Thank you again!
I remain very impressed by the amount, and quality, of work you and Son have completed so far………I am truly amazed at the time, effort, and dedication you are putting into son's applications. We couldn't be happier with your service. We all want to thank you very much for all of your help and advise during this process. Son's applications are all much stronger thanks to your participation.
Everything worked out better than expected. Thank you, thank you, thank you for all your guidance, support, shoulder leaning, and patience! I know you will always be someone I count as a friend.
We are very grateful for all the help you have given our daughter. You are a real pleasure to work with and it has really made a daunting process far easier to deal with. We love how detailed you are. This has really caused her to look at each of her college choices in great depth so that she does have a very good idea of what sets each school apart. We want to thank you so much for all your help with our daughter. Your help was invaluable and we will highly recommend you.
You are worth every penny - regardless of what schools our daughter does or doesn’t get accepted to. You really help make this process pleasant and not stressful. It’s so hard to know what to do and what not to do. It’s just so great to have someone to bounce all the concerns off…
I can’t express how wonderful we think you are! You are a gem. I have spoken to my friends who used college counselors for their kids and they don’t give anywhere near the feedback and wonderful, personal advice. Great job!
(after many acceptances and scholarships): All in all, this has been an unbelievable result in this intensely competitive year. I do believe we have you to thank for helping us pick schools with a good “fit” - I think this was very important - and you’re incredible advice to daughter about how she should tailor each application to show how she “fit” the school. I think this, together with all your other wonderful advice, really helped her achieve these amazing results….
My daughter is sooo happy. She had tremendous results with her schools. I really look forward to working with you again in a few years with my younger daughter. Even younger daughter says that she wants to work with Susan! She sees how much you helped her older sister….
We always speak of our daughter’s wonderful results - and are sure that your guidance was a major factor in that. As for email counseling - well, we are big proponents of that. Frankly, it was the best sort of counseling for us. We were both busy and scheduled up to our eyeballs, so being able to respond to you via email at any time of the day or night was extremely helpful to both of us. As you know, our daughter many times responded to you in the early hours of the morning - way after we all thought she was asleep! If it wasn't for that flexibility, I think she may have felt even more pressured and Lord knows, she was under tremendous pressure with all the music admit requirements.
Student: Thank you. For everything. For researching colleges for me. For editing my essays. For making me do the things that were optional. For staying on my case and making sure everything I did was done thoroughly and the right way…. I really, honestly could not have applied to college again without you. I mean it, I wouldn't be in the position I'm in today without you. I wouldn't be working at the coolest radio station in Philly, and I most likely would not have been accepted to the majority of these schools had I not worked with the expert. I promise you, when I make my first Grammy acceptance speech, YOU will be the first person I thank.
After all is said and done, I'd say we did pretty good. I'll tell you, man, when you asked me if I was ready to commit to all the work that I'd be faced with to apply to these schools, I did not expect it to be that..that....grueling. When I told my friends I couldn't hang out because I had college work to do, nobody could understand. Some of my friends applied to ONE school and just went there. But after 8 months of hard work and determination (kept alive with help from my family) it all paid off. I mean, it REALLY did. From August to my final audition at UArts on 3/20, my life was devoted to getting into a school that would help me live the dream. The dream of being in the music industry. The dream of being the next major producer. And now, that dream is coming true. We sent in my deposit for SUNY Purchase the other day, a school that is NOT easy to get into that has a nationally recognized Studio Production program. WAAHOOOOOOOO YEAHYEAHYEAHYEAH AWWWWWWESOOOOOOOOOOOOOOME!!!!!!!!!!!!
In all seriousness, this year off has been successful because of your dedication to me and your wanting me to succeed, and that is so greatly appreciated. By me, and by my Mom and Dad. You're great. In fact, I'll go as far as to say that you are. The. Best. I love you, thanks so much for your help! Thank you. Thanks. Thank you.
Parent: Thanks for doing everything that you did for son (& us). What an incredible mountain of work it is to get into a college music program. There's no way we could have done what you did with son. You can be a slave driver that dishes out a lot of homework.....but it pays off. His essays, Activity & Music Resumes really came out good. I also think you steered him toward some great schools that offer a pretty diverse selection to choose from. His record this year was 7-1-1 as compared to 0-6-1 last year. Between the gap year work that he is doing and your help, his value improved dramatically…So--thanks again, we really appreciate all of your help.
I just wanted to let you know that I actually received a $6000 merit scholarship to Oberlin! I was so excited when I got that letter in the mail! :) I also wanted to thank you for your advice on choosing colleges, and I certainly used it to help me with picking between Oberlin and Boston University...And the best fit for me (in my parent's and my own opinion) is Oberlin. I'M A YEOMAN!!! YAYAYAY!!! Thanks again for everything! I would never have gotten in or finished any applications without you! Much appreciation and thanks!!!!!
